Truly Indies First Action Feature, The Lackey is now on Amazon Prime!

Truly Indie Studios award winning action flick The Lackey is now, for the first time ever, available on Amazon Prime. If you have an Amazon Prime account you can watch it for FREE!

Watch the trailer here:

The Lackey is the brain child of Truly Indie helmer Shaun Piccinino and co-writer/producer Steve Pisa. Inspired by the greats such as Quentin Tarantino and Guy Ritchie, they both set out to make a gripping, gritty action film akin to those of the late 70's and early 80's.

With the help of Hectic Films heads Rickey Bird and Jason Sanders, and only $7,500 at their disposal, they filmed chase scenes in back alleys, fight scenes in speak easy pubs and blew up motorcycles for good measure!

In this Guy Ritchie-like action flick, JUDE ST. CLERE discovers he has a daughter by his junkie ex-girlfriend. He vows to take care of her after taking one last job. He's quickly entwined smack in the middle of a bloody mob war. Knowing that his chances of making it out alive are slim, he plunges in guns blazing.

The film stars: Shaun Piccinino, Rickey Bird Jr, Orlando McGuire, Vernon G. Wells, Lauren Parkinson Kruze, Guy Grundy, Jeremy Dunn, Larry Parrish, DT Carney & Robin Steffen.
The film went on to play the festival circuit across the united states racking up a total of 14 nominations and 4 wins, including the "Audience Choice" award at the 2012 Socal Film Festival and the "Best Editing In A Feature" award at the 2012 Action On Film Festival.

After it's festival run it landed with Cinema Epoch for domestic distribution.  And while it's been for sale on Amazon since it's initial release, this is the first time it's been available streaming on Amazon Prime. Watch it here: The Lackey On Amazon Prime

It's been 4 years since the film was released and it's still going strong! #GoTeam

Hurrah! The Princess Of Power was on set of Heroes With Issues today!

Truly Indie Studios was at it again, this time on location for a fun scene featuring another Master Of The Universe. That's right, She-Ra herself!

Tess Kielhamer stepped into the powerful warrior's boots and totally brought her own superhero prowess to the role. We can't wait for you to see what she's bringing in an upcoming episode of "Heroes With Issues"

Did we mention she's a total #Badass and awesome to work with? Be sure to also check her youtube channel and subscribe! Tess's Youtube Channel

On today's shoot we were joined by Truly Indie Producer, Writer and Director Steve Pisa. He 2nd unit directed the action for the scenes today. It's always great having his experienced and creative mind on set!

Shooting in a unique, secluded jungle-like setting (not at all a deserted portion of a local park) brought some challenges both for the camera and the crew!

The dappled light coming through the tree branches was constantly shifting, so getting the right look was difficult. But in the end we got the shots!

Also complicating the shoot was the piles of broken glass, the noise from a nearby Mandarin Wedding, and the arrival of a man who, we think, was living in the clearing we choose as our film location. He was nice enough to let us finish filming before settling back in to his home.

Here's a fun Easter Egg, the Doctor himself, Brian Suskind, and Director Shaun Piccinino, got to put on some costumes and became the fantasy thugs who get beaten down by She-Ra.

Pick Up Day Filming for Six Feet Down Under goes off with out a hitch!

Production on the 2nd Episode for Truly Indie Studio's hit series, Six Feet Down Under is nearing completion. This weekend Guy Grundy, who plays the series lead as Mick, and Anthony Apello who plays his right hand man Vinny, reprised their roles as the mob's go to Hit-men. They shot some important scenes not only to episode two but also as foreshadowing moments for the overall story line of the season.

As usual, shooting on location presents its usual challenge, namely dealing with the ever present ambient noise (cars, airplanes, etc). Especially now with summer in full swing, and everyone being out and about, it makes it difficult to capture clean audio to say the least.

However, this time we decided to make it even harder on ourselves by filming in a parking garage elevator. It was quite the adventure!

First, let's just say that elevators never seem to work the way you want them to. Or even when you need them to. We would let the elevator doors close (to redo makeup or change a lens) and it would take a heck of a while for the next one to show up.

Secondly, since we couldn't fully shut down or block the elevator we had to deal with people who actually wanted to "use" the elevator to go up and/or down. The nerve of some people! lol So we were forced to shoot around people coming and going.

On the up side, it turned out to be a great source of inspiration for our actors. In the elevator scene they needed to be very frustrated with the events of the story. Thanks to the people who kept insisting on riding up and down with the film crew, there was a lot of frustration to go around...so mission accomplished!

Big #ShoutOut to our friends at ProFight Supplements for helping us make it all possilbe. Filmed on location in beautiful Huntington Beach, Ca.
